Pastor Kurt Christenson has accepted The Call to serve as Salem's Senior Pastor!  Thanks be to God!  He will begin work at Salem July 1, 2008.  He and his family will move into Salem's Parsonage the middle of June.

Salem will host FOOD FOR BODY & SOUL Sundays in JULY
This vital ministry to the Glendale area hungry and homeless will be hosted by Salem each Sunday afternoon in July from 1:00 – 3 pm. A brief worship service is provided, followed by a BBQ hamburger lunch. Volunteers are needed to help prepare and serve the lunch. If you can help, please contact Emily Gillula.

YOGA CLASSES at Salem
Mondays 9-10 am & Wednesdays 5-6 pm
Yoga contributes to strength, flexibility, reduced stress, increased mental clarity, and relaxation. Bring a yoga mat (Target, Whole Foods, Big 5). Wear comfortable clothing and join Mary Ellen Braaten, RYT, in the Fireside Room. Suggested Donation $7

“Meals on Wheels” Salad Bar Luncheon
A Fundraiser for the Salvation Army program
that provides meals for the Elderly and Homebound

SALEM FIESTA AUGUST 2
Tickets will soon be available for the Mexican Fiesta fundraising party at the home of TJ and Barbara Denton on August 2 at 6:00 PM. Tickets will be $20 for adults, $15 for ages 6 and up and under age 6 are free. So, come one, come all! Great fun, margaritas, tasty tacos and all sorts of other delights for your palate await you at Salem Fiesta! This event will raise money for the Mexico home building mission trip taking place August 22-24. We need to raise over $4,000 to accomplish this mission project. We are up to $800 now and moving toward our goal. If you cannot come to Salem Fiesta but would like to help, make your check out to Salem Lutheran Church and mark it “Mexico.” Those wanting to go on the trip can talk with Steve Seekins, Sarah Watson, Lucy Boltz or Matt Braatan for more details. 2008 Flower Calendar Posted in Narthex
You may dedicate an altar flower arrangement to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, in loving memory or in honor of any event/person that is special.
Two flower arrangements are available each Sunday and each bouquet is $30. Just write a brief dedication on the date desired and include your name as the giver. You may enclose your payment with your offering or mail it to the church office. Please make sure you mark your payment “altar flowers.” There will be no altar flowers during the season of Lent.
