Stewardship
God has blessed Salem with a Christian family brimming with gifts; Gifts of abundance, intelligence, education, talent and love. We now have the added blessing of a wonderful pastor to lead us and guide us, and to help us to focus on the Mission of our Salem.
The Stewardship Committee is specifically called to encourage your giving and to educate you about the wonderful spiritual benefits and peace of heart that giving will bring. We are also charged with accurate accounting and management of your precious gifts. There are numerous dedicated individuals who volunteer their time during and after worship services to begin the accounting process. There are systems and financial controls to provide protection, appropriate direction and timely reporting.
As the Stewardship chair I am humbly honored to have the opportunity to serve such loving people. I am also blessed to have the experience and guidance of several members who have been helping to orientate me to my new responsibilities.
I believe as Christians we are all members of the Stewardship Committee. We are stewards who are called to use our time, talents and money to take care of others, share the Good News and maintain the beautiful facilities and dedicated staff God has provided.
Scripture tells us that God delegated authority to us over all His creation: Then God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” Genesis 1:28
It also tells us that God expects us to use the gifts He gives us to best carry out our responsibilities. "Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful." 1st Corinthians 4:2
I am excited about our future here at Salem. We have a dream for our church. We have a master plan or is it more accurately a MASTER PLAN. I believe God has given us that dream and intends to make it a reality. I sincerely believe we are here because it is exactly where we are meant to be. We may never have another chance to move the hand of God and to reap the rewards He has promised. The money God entrusts to us is eternal investment capital. Every day is an opportunity to buy up more shares in His kingdom. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Gal. 6:9.
