Salem’s New Sunday Morning Summertime Arts and Technology Ministry

Sunday Mornings 9:45 - 10:45 am * June 27 – August 22

As summer is fast approaching, we wanted to get the word out about and invite you to come to DiscipleShop! our new arts and technology based Sunday morning summertime program. DiscipleShop! is where Vacation Bible School meets Sunday School. It will run for nine-weeks this summer with learning and fun focused on God’s word. This year’s DiscipleShop! story is The Parable of the Sower. We will explore the parable through dramatic arts, music and technology.

At DiscipleShop! we have something for children of all ages. Check it out!

• Toddlers (children up to age 3) will be cared for in our garden nursery. They will “play” with a simple curriculum and join the preschoolers where appropriate in song and dance
• Preschool, Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd graders will explore the story in a more traditional setting creating art projects, playing games and singing
• 3rd grade through Sr High will choose a module to “play” in over the nine weeks. Modules include:

Drama – Delve into characters, create skits, act out scenes and “work” the stage

Music - Explore the story using your musical talents, be it brass, percussion, strings or voice

Costume and Set Design – Use your artistic creativity and a combination of mixed media to create costumes and sets

Filming and Photography – Interpret and record the story from your point of view and as it is created by the other modules

Communication and Advertising –  Put the power of the page, or the email, or the sound bite into action…create the images in different media to get the word out

Registration begins June 1^st.
